Total Body Muscle Activation Workshop

 

Bridget Cook, the presenter of The Muscle Activation Workshop, has a Bachelor of Physiology/Food Science and 25 years physical training experience.

This workshop is highly practical and provides you with the knowledge necessary to conduct a muscle test that provides a muscle  function assessment for yourself and your clients.  You will learn how to restore function to individual muscles, increasing strength and improving technique. You will learn  an appropriate exercise program that will lead to long lasting and effective movement and strength gains. Once learned, the Muscle Activation Balance can be used as a complete session where many muscles are tested, or done on individual muscles during a training session.

All participants will have experience of testing and activating 13 major muscles. Good to learn for yourself, great to learn for your clients.

Workshop Covers

  •  Analysis testing, activation and exercises.
  •  How to pinpoint muscles that are causing movement and postural dysfunctions. Testing is done physically to determine which muscles are not functioning correctly because of reduced signals from the brain.
  • The muscle activation technique will increase the messages from the brain to restore muscle function.
  • A program of targeted home tests and exercises for each muscle to maintain improvements.
  • This course is to activate muscles of the body that do not respond to standard training. Muscle activation can provide a simple and effective way of increasing the progress of clients who:
  1. Have poor technique for an exercise despite practice and training. eg crunches, push ups, squats
  2. Have one part of the body that does not increase in strength and endurance with training as the rest of the body does. Eg weak arms, lower back.
  3. Have frequent injuries to one part of their body. Eg ankles, wrist, knee.
