A year ago I completed the police entrance exam and sat down with Jen to discuss my fitness. I completed the police recruit program and personal training sessions each week. Without this program, PT sessions and Jen I can’t positively say I would be where I am now. I am pleased to say that I have now been offered a spot as a police recruit in January. Over the past year I have overcome a neck injury and also, the toughest part of this process, my mind. At various times during this year I doubted myself and lost motivation. Motivation is the most important thing during this process as it can be a long ride. My motivation decreased after completing all components necessary to enter the merit pool and not hearing anything for several months. Jen helped me get through this difficult time and after a few weeks off, I returned to training with a much healthier mindset. It wasn’t easy, waiting and waiting. However, I have learnt that the most important thing is to keep motivated and remember why you are doing it. Keep working hard and eventually the offer will come!
