Hi, my name is Kayleen, I am a 53 year old woman. I was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica 19months ago. Before this I was a very active person. I woke up one morning with extreme pain in my shoulders and neck, and within weeks I had pain in my hips and legs. I didn’t cope at all for first 12months with extreme pain and I was very much in despair. I had to take very strong medication which I was not too happy about, so I decided to take this challenge head on. I decided to travel to Brisbane for a holiday and I went and saw my niece Jen who has a Personal Training business that specializes in holistic health. One of Stay Strong Personal Training trainers Bridget is a Kinesiologist that my niece Jen recommended I see. This amazing lady gave me really great information on how to change my mind set and not let the disease control me.! I did this but it took a huge amount of hard work on my Part. Jen and I had many talks on my eating habits and mind set training. Jen recommended I cut out any acidic foods and sugars so my body was not feeding off these foods and causing more inflammation in my body. I believe that changing my eating patterns and changing my mind set has made a MASSIVE difference in my life. My medication and pain has reduced dramatically in the last 6 months. I have just completed a 5km walk which I never thought would have been possible 19 months ago. I am proud of myself and for the constant support I have been given from family and friends. My life has improved and I’m back exercises and working on my mindset. I hope my little story has inspired someone, So never give up and believe you can do whatever you choose to do. Live in a happy body not a pain body.
Thanks Jen and Bridget
